Matt graduated from Middlesex University in 2010 with a BA First Class (Hons) in Theatre Arts (Design and Technical Theatre).

Matt has 5 years’ combined experience as an audiovisual systems designer at theatre consultancy and specialist audiovisual installation firms. He spent over 3 years at Theatre Projects Consultants, where he acted as audiovisual systems designer for projects such as the National Theatre within the Royal Arts Complex in Riyadh, KSA. He has a further 8 years’ professional experience in technical management and production electrics for theatre, opera and television.

As a theatre practitioner, Matt worked in many of London’s producing theatres and has toured productions throughout the U.K and internationally to regions such as Asia, the Middle East and North America. Matt acted as Technical Manager for Battersea Arts Centre where he oversaw capital refurbishments to Production & Technical infrastructure, advising on electrical accommodation and network equipment required to enable building wide promenade performance. Whilst here, he has also achieved a City & Guilds diploma in electrotechnical craft, and further certification in design and management of temporary electrical systems (BS7909).

His work in television production includes acting as Site LED Technician for productions such as Tipping Point, The Crystal Maze, and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Whilst employed at a specialist installation firm, Matt worked on the specification and delivery of new stage lighting systems for a five-storey atrium at BBC Cardiff Central Square.
