Social responsibility

Charcoalblue has the great fortune to work across the globe with some of the most talented and innovative artists, architects, and designers on earth. We believe that it is our duty to contribute to the industries and communities in which we work, making positive change for a better tomorrow. Our Global Statement of Values details our commitments to a sustainable, inclusive future for our industry, our clients, and our team – but we don’t just espouse our values, we embody them.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) work is led by a Principal, supported by dedicated Environmental and EDI Coordinators and with a team of volunteers, together, they are our ’ Blue Team’.

The Blue Team’s efforts are focused on 4 key pillars:

Blue Team are key to supporting and championing Charcoalblue’s global efforts to develop sustainable and accessible design tools and guides for the built environment - and for the company becoming more environmentally sustainable across all of our internal and external activity.

As well as identifying, developing and running outreach and training opportunities - from school and college workshops through to internship programs for early-career professionals - we dedicate funds to donate to not-for-profit arts organizations who share our values.
Running through all of our CSR activity is a strong commitment to creating and advancing strategies to increase diversity and representation within our company and the industries we partner with. We believe it is vital to operate in a socially responsible manner, and to that end we’ve committed resources to advancing these core values.
The work of making a better world is slow, and constant, but we believe that our clients benefit from our unique perspective, and our commitment to:

  • Include all
  • Protect our environment, and
  • Inspire the next generations
