Kristen is a former theatrical production stage manager with a deep affection for performing arts administration. She grew up in rural Pennsylvania where she was homeschooled prior to attending one of the largest public university campuses in the US. Post-college she has meandered from theatrical administration to production and back again. Past projects include: being the only paid employee managing a vibrant community theatre in rural Pennsylvania, extensive TYA touring and stage management, artist management at the South Orange Performing Arts Center, stints as the production manager and stage manager at performing arts schools in PA and NJ, and most recently, a work-from-home gig at a virtual event company. She couldn't be more thrilled to have re-centered her career on arts administration at Charcoalblue.
If you were to establish your own venue, what would you call it?
I have a Pennsylvania, USA-based non-profit theatre company, the Main Street Theatre Company
…and how what would happen there?
We're a community theatre company that focuses on musicals.
What qualities should a 'great storytelling or collaboration space’ have?
A great space allows everything to be seen, heard and experienced and also encourages maximal audience and community engagement.
What first sparked your love of performing arts, shared experiences or technology?
I've been "making" theatre since I was 12 years old performing at a country farm grange, and I've just never stopped.
