Pablo Romero
Senior Consultant
Pablo assists and consults on all aspects of acoustic design and planning, sound separation, and noise and vibration design.
At Charcoal Blue, I am an acoustic and AV consultant based in Australia, having been with the team for over seven years. I specialize in performing arts and arts-related spaces, providing expertise in room acoustics, building acoustics, noise, and vibration control. I approach my work through a thoughtful exchange: I focus on understanding the aesthetic vision and all technical demands, ensuring these are integrated into every design. I see myself as a translator, connecting subjective acoustic experiences to technical details, so that each space effortlessly immerses audiences, letting them forget the building and simply experience the performance, the sound, and the moment.
What Clients/Colleagues Value About You
I thrive with people who share the same curiosity and imagination as me. I never accept “impossible”—I research deeply, exploring intent, constraints, and opportunities. Through open dialogue and thoughtful problem-solving, I challenge assumptions, test ideas, and reimagine solutions that bring the vision to life in a meaningful and achievable way.
What We Won’t Learn from Your CV
I worked as sound “boom guy” for a few movies and series , the main movie that I worked on is ” Proof of Life”; with Russell Crow and Meg Ryan. Great experience!!!
A Place That Shaped or Inspires You
I always need the beach close to where I live—it inspires me, helps me relax, and lets me refuel. I’m not a fan of the cold and feel most at ease in warmer, coastal environments.
Coffee, Travel, or Creative Ritual
Wine and music are my rituals—exploring grape varietals and origins, while creating or simply listening music
What Are You Learning About Right Now
I was never into sports, but coaching my son in soccer has become a rewarding learning experience.
Cultural Value You Most Identify With
I really connect with Creativity and Innovation. Our processes give us the space to explore, experiment, research, and sometimes get things wrong—and that’s totally fine. Having the flexibility to manage our time and follow ideas wherever they lead feels human and real. It’s exactly that freedom, curiosity, and space that spark the coolest ideas, creative solutions, and innovations.
