Jamie McIntyre
Senior Consultant
Jamie consults on theatre design, specialising in audio visual systems
I am a theatre consultant specialising in audiovisual design. I believe that every project is unique, and I enjoy finding the right solution for each venue’s challenges and goals. I thrive on the blend of creativity and pecise attention to detail required in technical systems design. My most important aims in any project are that the venue enables staff to do fun and exciting work and the audiences to enjoy getting immersed in performances. I also relish opportunities to share knowledge with colleagues and collaborators and learn from each others experience and skillsets.
What Excites You Most About Your Work
The thing that excites me most about my work is the constant variety of ideas and problems that are brought to me through the diverse range of projects and Client’s that Charcoalblue engages with. This provides life-long learning opportunities for me to continue growing as a theatre consultant and designer.
A Book, Podcast, Building, or Creative Work That Inspires You
The Elis James and John Robins podcast – a pair of comedians discussing pretty much any topic you could think of. They somehow manage to be informative, hilarious and inspiring all at the same time. It never fails to cheer me up, well worth a listen!
Cultural Value That Guides Engagement with Others
Our company value of collaboration is at the core of how I engage with colleagues, collaborators and stakeholders. I believe that for any project to be successful, all parties need to work together. Everyone brings their own specialism and experience to each project and tapping into that range of expertise is crucial to getting the best for the project as no single person or company can deliver a brilliant venue on their own.
