Provide general IT and systems support to all staff in the EMEA and APAC region including hardware, software and licenses/subscriptions. Coordinate IT onboarding and offboarding employees and be the first point of contact for day to day IT queries and issues working alongside out external IT support.I approach my work with lots of notes and checklists! It’s helps me not to forget points and ensure tasks are completed properly. Often ‘jobs’ are issues people experience so it helps to show patience and communicate effectively with others, putting yourself in their shoes. Computers and technology as a whole is an incredible tool in helping us reach our company goals, but can also be very frustrating! So working quickly without sacrificing quality is key.
What Brought You to Charcoalblue
I’m probably one of the few people who have no real background in theatre, performing arts or even event spaces! But that’s what really drew me to CB in the first place. I knew IT, but the idea of doing that in a environment that was new and different really appealed to me. It felt like an opportunity in a niche field that would rarely come about again. The flexibility of CB already drew me in as looking after my physical and mental health was important.
What We Won’t Learn from Your CV
I really enjoy cooking. I’m not that good at it, but even if its a simply dinner I enjoy the process. I like making new things and learning new processes for example using my sourdough starter to make pizza or making my own chicken broth! I’m not very good at following recipes so I like to figure things out as I go. When it goes wrong, I look forward to doing it better next time
Cultural Value You Most Identify With
Collaboration. I feel like CB thrives on this and our work wouldn’t happen without it. No BU or group seems separate, always communicating and using each others knowledge and strength to build and progress. Whether that be on projects or as a business. I really enjoy learning from other BU/groups either about their work or how it can benefit mine/help me do my job better. It is a value that constantly benefits my working
Cultural Value That Guides Engagement with Others
Communication. I think this is the key between just working alongside people and really engaging with them. Communication is an important way in showing respect which can be key in building these relationships with teammates, collaborators and stakeholders. I’m still learning and improving my communication but I’ve found simple concise messages help me and my work with others, keeping everyone in the loop while remaining efficient.
Cultural Value That Inspires You to Go the Extra Mile
Professional Excellence. Being proud of the work we do and standing out as a leader in the field is only possible by constantly striving for excellence. Trying to go the extra mile when helping people with issues and queries is how I try to show this myself and in ensuring our processes are at a high standard too. I value that with this high standard of work, I can be a small part of the larger team that has such a positive reputation and standing in the industry
