Emily facilitates the design and delivery of event spaces that will foster memorable experiences and deliver on client business objectives.

As a Director of Experience Design and Strategy, I support clients as they design, build, and scale their portfolios of event, broadcast, amenity, and customer experience spaces. I’m often managing the design of individual venues, spaces, or campuses, as well as aligning a client’s vision for user experience with a larger real estate development strategy. With a background spanning theatre, immersive experiences, management and leadership, I approach my work with curiosity and joy. At work, the things that matter to me most are authenticity, integrity, collaboration, and continual improvement, which I delight in every day with this incredible team!

What Brought You to Charcoalblue

Psychogeography, St. Anns Warehouse, and the incredible colleagues from my touring days are the things that brought me to Charcoalblue. Having worked in touring production and in academia, I knew the power an amazing venue could have, and I knew that I wanted to continue to facilitate transformative experiences. At Charcoalblue I’m able to bring those passions together through design of the built environment.

What Are You Learning About Right Now

At this job, I learn something new every day! Outside of my continual fascination with infrastructure and urban design, I continue to develop my skills as a facilitator and mentor through professional training in leadership and management.

Cultural Value You Most Identify With

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. Our ability to listen deeply, communicate clearly, and find creative solutions together is what enables us to succeed both as individuals and as a collective team. I am constantly inspired by the unique expertise my colleagues and partners bring to every project and find it incredibly rewarding to work in a field where we can truly create something greater than the sum of its parts.
