Alex provides digital design solutions such as VR sightline studies, as well as contributing towards the company research & development initiatives.

I create software which helps simplify the complicated; be that for our clients or for ourselves. I try to find the sticking points on projects, break them down and build them back up in a way that makes them easy to understand. Sometimes that might be using Virtual Reality, but that could also be using the web or even making an application! What matters most to me is seeing that moment of realisation on a users face when something clicks from using something that we’ve made for them.

What Excites You Most About Your Work

I get excited by being given a problem to solve and the freedom to discover how to solve it. To be able to make something really custom and tailored to address the issue at hand. That moment where it’s like ‘I’ve helped make this’ for something that someone really values and utilises is always a great feeling.

I am on a quest to find the best cinnamon bun in the world. Wherever I go in the world, I will review as many as I can.

Cultural Value You Most Identify With

I identify with creativity and innovation the most. Some of the tools I’ve helped create at Charcoalblue are truly unique and I’m proud to see them flourish across the projects that we are involved in. I love to take a creative approach to developing our tools; understanding that making something simple and easy to use takes a lot of hard work and effort to get right, and therefore something we can be confident with.
