Cork Arena

Cork, Ireland

As the second largest city in the Republic of Ireland, Cork is a bustling, liberal city with a thriving arts and music scene. Now a new major venue is being planned for the city which would see its infrastructure match its ambition to be a world-leading centre for entertainment.

Cork Arena is envisaged as a large-scale, 6,000-seat arena with inherent flexibility that caters specifically to large scale theatrical events using its built in orchestra pit. Charcoalblue worked with Populous to create a concept design that is currently awaiting government approval before proceeding.

The design includes the capability to host major sports events, conferences and trade shows. The design scheme incorporates sound, lighting, air-conditioning and fire safety systems.
