Gary’s considerable experience includes senior production and technical roles at the Royal Opera House, the Royal Shakespeare Company and Nottingham Playhouse. He has undertaken technical and production management roles for regional touring productions for Birmingham Repertory Theatre, New Wolsey Theatre, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Imagine Theatre Company and many more.
Whilst working at the Belgrade Theatre Gary was part of a small management team that turned the receiving theatre into a producing theatre and was instrumental in the opening of the B2 Studio. He has worked as a Business Consultant and Project Manager for CTS and the Welsh National Opera and has delivered several large international projects for creative agencies around the globe. In 2011 he oversaw the feasibility, design, build, delivery and installation of the RSC’s temporary theatre, the Scarlet and Gray Stage, at the Park Avenue Armoury.
Gary leads our Turnkey Design service which takes a venue from conception through construction to curtain-up and its entire design team under a trusted, single point of contact. His consultancy work includes The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Storyhouse in Chester and London’s forthcoming Boulevard Theatre.

What's the greatest lesson you've learnt as a Theatre Consultant?
What first sparked your love of theatre or performing arts?
Theatre has always been a part of my life from a young age. The best part of it is the people and the many great memories I have working with such talented, funny, interesting and diverse people.
What qualities should a 'great performance space' have?
A performance space can be many things to many people. What a performance space should give you is a sense of wonder and excitement and that will be unique to the person and the production.
