UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard Pilot Launch

25/09/24

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard pilot, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at transforming the built environment and accelerating the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future. This cross-industry initiative sets science-based metrics to help buildings achieve net zero carbon performance. The pilot is now live, and we’re calling on built environment professionals across the UK to get involved by joining the launch webinar.

The UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard is a cross-industry initiative that sets out clear, science-based targets to ensure that buildings across all sectors are designed and operated in line with the nation’s 2050 net zero carbon goals. This pilot marks a potentially seismic step forward, as it seeks to gather real-world data to refine and finalize the standards that will drive sustainable transformation across the built environment.

This pilot represents a critical step toward refining these standards through real-world data collection. We’re proud to have contributed to the pilot by gathering data from performance venues as part of the Culture and Entertainment sector group, helping shape sector-specific targets. As the standards have evolved, we’ve continued to support the group, offering guidance to ensure performance venues are fully prepared to meet these ambitious goals.

This initiative has the potential to transform the future of building design in the UK, and we’re eager to see its impact unfold.
