Our sixth studio opened this January in Chicago following the opening of The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Theatre Consultant (Team Leader)

We are looking to employ a bright, well-mannered and quick-thinking Theatre Consultant with Team Leader and Theatre Design expertise to provide full-time support in our Chicago studio. You will undertake a wide range of design tasks, use your own initiative, and be self-motivated.

Practical experience in the performing arts in parallel with technical knowledge is key to this post. The successful candidate may have experience as a production manager, stage manager, technical director, scenic designer, theatre consultant or some other production-related post. An understanding of the architectural and construction industries would be a distinct advantage. Proven experience in technical writing and drafting – preferably in 3D CAD – is required.

Administrative Assistant (part-time)

We are looking to employ a bright, well-mannered and quick thinking Administrative Assistant to provide part-time support to our Studio Principal and consultants in Chicago. You will undertake a wide range of office support and marketing tasks in our busy studio, use your own initiative, and be self-motivated. You will also report to and liaise with our New York Studio Administrator as required.

This role is initially for 20 hours per week Monday- Friday (flexible) and there will likely be scope for increasing those hours over time.

A good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Acrobat is essential, and some basic experience in accounting would be an advantage. A background in administration for the performing arts or architecture is desirable.

Meet Clem, our Chicago Studio Principal

After setting up our sixth studio in the heart of the West Loop district on Chicago's West Madison Street, Clemeth Abercrombie has been busy building our presence in the region. Clemeth is responsible for the day to day operations of the studio in liaison with the US and UK senior management team. He provides project management and consultancy in all aspects of theatre design. Currently on the design team for the redevelopment of Massey Hall in Toronto, TheatreSquared, the Southern Repertory Theatre in New Orleans and Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre, Clemeth joined us with more than thirteen years’ experience working in theatre including eleven years as a consultant.
