Simon consults on all aspects of room acoustic design and planning, sound separation and noise and vibration design for the performing arts.
Prior to taking up a career in acoustics, Simon worked as a producer and sound engineer specialising in the production of audiobooks. After completing a Masters’ in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics, where his work with acoustic scale models was awarded the Newman Student Medal for Merit, Simon gained a wide variety of acoustic consultancy experience ranging from major construction projects to airports to school developments.
At Charcoalblue, he has led the acoustic design of the new home for Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in Peckham, southeast London; the Boulevard Theatre in London’s Soho District; and his most recently completed project, the David Brownlow Theatre, situated within the grounds of Horris Hill School, Berkshire, England.
