What first sparked your love of theatre or performing arts?

As a 10-year-old tourist, I was lucky to get my first theatre experience at the most famous of venues in the West End, seeing Singin' in the Rain at the Palladium. I remember being mesmerized by a fountain that changed lights in the foyer, and then my jaw dropping when it actually rained on stage during that scene! I also saw Evita and West Side Story during that visit — not a bad way to be introduced to theatre with that trio of shows.

Since then, my most significant theatre experiences have been watching that harrowing portrait of a woman’s destruction in Yerma at the Young Vic in 2017, and the visual spectacle of Complicité’s The Elephant Vanishes at the Barbican way back in 2003.
