What's the greatest lesson you've learnt as a Theatre Consultant?

That it’s better to immerse yourself in a challenge than submit to an easy solution! The best innovations aren’t made by those looking for a quick fix, but by those with patience to not only find a solution but the best solution for the challenge at hand.

What first sparked your love of theatre or performing arts?

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember and first started learning piano at age 12, but my affection for musical theatre was first realised when I played the role of Seymour Krelborn in my school's production of Little Shop of Horrors aged 15!

As for a favourite moment, I don’t think anything will ever beat having a 300 strong audience singing one of my own songs back to me in a small Bristol venue aged 16.

As a musician yourself, what qualities do you look for in a venue?

Appropriate acoustics, a good sound system and a great technical team all make for a great show, but a bar for the audience is a great help too!
