Amanda Fisk brings a dynamic blend of technical experience, design, and consulting experience to her role at Charcoalblue. With a background in stage lighting starting in 2014 and graduating from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2022, she found her love of lighting early on. She has worked in theaters across the United States and is currently based in Denver, CO. She is an active freelance lighting designer and programmer, primarily working with circus, dance, and musicals.
Amanda has three years of experience as a theater consultant, previously at DLR Group, where she contributed to the theater planning discipline on cultural and performing arts projects nationwide. She is proficient in developing and documentation of theatrical systems aligned with clients’ current and future needs. She has drafted and designed dynamic lighting control, rigging (static and motorized), soft goods, and seating for black box and proscenium spaces. In addition to her work as a theatre consultant, DLR Group offered an opportunity to learn architectural lighting in tandem. She gained experience in cultural and performing arts, manufacturing, and workplace architectural lighting designs. Amanda volunteered as a local equity champion at DLR Group, where she helped lead internal initiatives focused on creating a more inclusive workplace. She currently serves as the IDEAS representative for the USITT architecture commission.
