ENGLISH NATIONAL OPERA LONDON PROJECT BUDGET: Confidential COMPLETED: Summer 2004
…engineering precision in opulent surroundings
Project summary Charcoalblue was engaged by the English National Opera in Summer 2004 to assist them in the replacement of the steel grid and timber flooring over the stage, much of which was more than 100 years old. The work was completed in a sequence of meticulously planned overnight operations, allowing the day-to-day prehearsals and performances to continue unaffected. | Following the completion of this project, Charcoalblue has embarked on a long-term plan to replace the stage machinery with a system of motorised flying bars and movable winches, all of which will have to be incorporated within the existing 19th-century structure. |
