Paul provides project management and consultancy on all aspects of theatre design, with special emphasis on stagelighting systems and project delivery.

Paul has a strong background in stagelighting and technical theatre having spent more than twelve years as a Chief Electrician and resident Lighting Designer, both at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford and at The Old Vic, London.

As Senior Lighting Engineer at Glantre Engineering, Paul worked on the design, project management and installation of stagelighting systems in new-build cruise ships for P&O and Disney as well as Arts Centres and Theatres both in the UK and around the world. For Patrick Woodroffe Lighting Design, Paul worked on the design of feature lighting schemes at Wynn Resorts hotels in Las Vegas and Macau, as well as projects for the V&A museum gardens and the Cutty Sark in London.

Paul was previously a consultant at Carr & Angier and joined Charcoalblue in 2010. He has a vast amount of experience in designing for a wide range of performance buildings, including concert halls, opera houses, theatres, performing arts centres, school and university buildings, outdoor venues, museums, hospitality, and conference centres.

His consultancy work with Charcoalblue includes Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp, Belgium and LAMDA’s new home in London.
