Charcoalblue opens new Glasgow studio and announce promotions
This month we celebrate the opening of our new Glasgow studio in response to a growing portfolio currently underway in the region. In addition, the company have announced that John Owens New York Studio Principal, will join the board of PArtners from Janaury and Steve Roberts and Rich Garfield have become Studio Principals of the Bristol and London studios respectively.
The new Glasgow studio is led by Studio Principal Steve Green. Opening this month, it is housed within the Old Sheriff Court building in Brunswick Street, also home to the famed Scottish Youth Theatre. Following work on the new headquarters of the National Theatre of Scotland, Rockvilla, in Spiers Wharf, Charcoalblue are busy working on Perth Theatre, Dundee High School and the Scottish Power building in Glasgow amongst other Scottish Projects.
This month also sees Charcoalblue's New York Studio Principal John Owens join the Partnership team. Since joining the company in 2005, John has helped build the North American portfolio, with projects such as 2017 AIA award winning St Ann's Warehouse and the soon-to-reopen Hudson Theatre, and will continue to do so as Partner. Rich Garfield has been announced as Charcoalblue's first London Studio Principal as the team is set to grow to more than 40 in the next six months. Steve Roberts has been promoted to Bristol Studio Principal as the studio's portfolio grows, including work with Bristol Old Vic and Colston Hall.
